Jeff Erdmann
President & Owner of Bollman Yachts www.bollmanyachts.com
Jeff is married to Wendy Erdmann & has two boys Bret 13 & Ben 11 & lives in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. Jeff grew up in Oshkosh Wisconsin at his parent’s home on Lake Winnebago. He sailed a great deal; mostly scows but some keelboats & did a fair amount of water skiing & playing with small powerboats. After High School, Jeff attended Fox Valley Technical School for an associates degree in marketing.
As soon as he had the choice he moved from the Northern winter climate to Texas. While in Austin, TX Jeff bought an O’day 22’ & sailed extensively on Lake Travis where he had a home. In 1985 I got the “fever” for a larger vessel & started traveling to Sea Brook Texas shopping for a live aboard vessel. During those trips & while scouring the classified ads in Soundings I saw an ad for a “Yacht Brokerage Class”. The idea of selling boats / yachts for a living appealed to me so I bought the course & decided that I needed to move to Florida to begin my new career as a yacht broker.”
Upon arriving in FT. Lauderdale in 1987, he worked for Albion Sail-away Yachts for approximately one year before starting with Bollman Yachts. Jeff has become a Deerfoot / Sundeer specialist & has sold more of these performance offshore cruisers than any other yacht broker other than Steve Dashew himself. Jeff has done a number of offshore deliveries & passages including the 1996 Pacific Cup race from San Francisco to Hawaii.
In early 2001 Pete Bollman decided he wanted to retire & sold Jeff Erdmann Bollman Yachts. Jeff just celebrated his 7th year as the principle of Bollman Yachts & his 21th year as a yacht broker. He holds a State of Florida Yacht Broker’s License #278 & is currently a member of the FYBA & MIASF. He is serving his 2nd term on the Board of Directors for FYBA & is the current Secretary of FYBA.

After an active and industrious (workaholic) business career and a brief (boring) retirement, I joined Bollman Yachts in 1999 as a yacht salesman/broker. My prior experience, as a yacht owner, frequently trading boats, gives me an informed perspective as a broker. My technical background as an engineer contributes to my understanding of yacht machinery and systems. I have been yachting much of my life, and currently hold a Florida Yacht Broker license as well as a USCG captain’s license.
As a child I raced dinghies in Toronto harbour, and later in life raced sailboats on Long Island Sound, and Narragansett Bay. Since 1978 I have owned a series of racing sailboats, and finally in 1990 a 52 foot, ketch rig, sailing yacht. During 14 years, this vessel cruised from Maine to Venezuela frequently visiting Bermuda and most of the Caribbean islands. As a professional captain I have experience on a variety of motor and sail yachts, making both short and long-range deliveries.
After graduation from the University of Waterloo, with a degree in chemical engineering, I worked as an engineer, trader, manufacturer, corporate executive, business owner and investor. In my business career I traveled extensively in Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Far East. I emigrated from Canada to New York City in 1979, and migrated to Florida in 1998.

Lori Goldstein has lived in Florida for 22 years, and has been a broker for 21 of them. In fact, Lori was one of the founders of Bollman Yachts in 1984. She is originally from New York, and learned to sail as a child on Chesapeake Bay. She has cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and the Mediterranean. Originally, her forte was bluewater cruising sailboats and her expertise in this area is well known. However, as her dedicated clients have begun to trade into trawlers and motoryachts, Lori has acquired a solid background in these yachts as well. With so many years of knowledge and experience in the yachting industry, she prides herself on helping her sellers present their yachts for sale properly and professionally, so that they sell as quickly as possible. Additionally, the buyers with whom she works often comment on her ability to pinpoint the best boats for their needs at reasonable prices. At least twenty of her clients have completed circumnavigations. She can be reached easily on her cell phone or by email.

Blame it on “Sea Hunt”, blame it on Mike Nelson!
Growing up in Northern Ontario, Derek’s life was changed forever by that half-hour TV Show. The yearning to explore the world on a sailing boat has led to a life long relationship with the sea. From a 12-year cruise through the Caribbean, Pacific and Asian water on his own boats, to Charter then Delivery Captain, to finally a Yacht Broker (and Agent for Van de Stadt). With 150,000 sailing miles on a myriad of different vessels, to destinations far across the globe, Derek offers an interesting insight to the cruising lifestyle.
Derek has a RYA Yacht Master Ocean (200 Tons) Captain’s License, and has been a Commodore in good standing with the Seven Seas Cruising Association for 23 years.

Jim has been in and around the Marine Business for over 30 years. While working in broadcast advertising at the local NBC affiliate in Providence, RI Jim, his wife Suzanne and their two children annually cruised the coast of New England in between racing to Bermuda on various vessels. In 1998 Jim and the family departed on a four year circumnavigation. Not content with the traditional route around they sailed east about visiting more than two dozen nations.
As well as having 50,000+ sea miles and a circumnavigation on his own vessel Jim was asked by Skip and Linda Dashew to manage the construction and hand over of Sundeer Yachts to the new owners. This led to joining the builders of Sundeer yachts, TPI Composite/Pearson Composites to be project manager of vessels over 40 feet. Under construction at this facility at that time were Sundeer, Lagoon Catamaran’s, True North power vessels and the well respected racing/cruising JBoats.
Jim later joined with Jeff Erdmann and Pete Bollman combining forces to promote and sell the Sundeer line of offshore cruising vessels when Sundeer was purchased privately from Steve and Linda Dashew.
Jim and Suzanne moved permanently to Florida nearly eight years ago having joined Bollman Yachts. Their daughter, a marine biologist/environmentalist graduate is with NOAA in wet land reclamation. Their son graduated in the same field of endeavor. He is presently working in a branch of marine biology while pursuing a master’s degree in Marine Biology at the University of Southern California at Berkeley.

Russell W. Schafer was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, the Yachting Capital of the World. Specializing in Motor Yacht and Sportfishing Yacht sales, he is the third generation in his family to be in the boat building / boat sales industry. He states, “I was raised with a Fishing Family and was fishing tournaments at 10 years of age. Boating is in my blood, mixed with a little bit of saltwater. My idea of success is enjoying what one does for a living, and I really enjoy selling yachts.” This attitude, combined with his knowledge of yachts and seamanship, as well as a family history of yachting has led to Russell’s success today.
Key also to his success is listening to his client and putting the client’s interests first and foremost. He finds a great deal of satisfaction in doing the footwork and researching the current yacht market, in order to find the best fit for his client in yacht design and features, as well as in negotiating the best price possible. When selling a client’s yacht, he uses his expertise to determine a current, yet competitive market value along with presenting the yacht in the most appealing way through numerous avenues.
If you are looking for a young, high energy, enthusiastic professional who has the reputation of being a top salesman, you can call Russ at 954-445-2290 or e-mail him at russ@bollmanyachts.com. “Whether looking for the right yacht, or looking to sell your current one, please feel free to contact me to discuss your yachting strategy. You won’t be disappointed.”

David grew-up sailing racing-dinghies in England at a very young age and, as soon as he was allowed, started racing offshore, ultimately completing two Fastnet races, a Sydney/Hobart race, a Trans-Atlantic race and many others. The pursuit of his sailing passion led to four Atlantic crossings and a circumnavigation.
In his professional life, David had become a Lawyer and practiced in London for a year and a half, but the law couldn’t hold his interest so David sailed to the US, where he formed a successful yacht delivery business, operated Charterboats in the Bahamas and the Caribbean and, ultimately, ran a number of large Power Yachts for private individuals and corporations.
Always fascinated with navigation, David accepted an offer to join New York based ITT Decca Marine Inc., an early marine radar pioneer, and cut his ‘sales’ teeth selling first generation anti-collision radars to the New York based offshore tanker industry. He was transferred to Fort Lauderdale a year later to develop the marine electronics dealer base in the southeast. This led to senior marketing and sales management positions with two leading brand-name marine electronics manufacturers. David’s ‘in depth’ knowledge of marine electronics, combined with his extensive knowledge of boats, adds a valuable dimension in his ability to find yachts that are ‘just right’ for his brokerage clients.
